Meet the Team

Chris
Hampshire businessman Chris Bialan came up with a concept to save Hampshire and Dorset’s bee colonies by building 500 new beehives across the two counties in 2019.
As an owner of five care homes across the country, Chris thought the grounds and gardens would be a great place to start installing the hives, and the pilot scheme launched in 2020.
After success at his care homes, Chris was inspired, and wanted to spread “bee news” and encourage others to do the same.
Chris is also passionate about helping people so all the profits from Bee Mission go to cooking homemade meals and distributing them to people experiencing homelessness in Bournemouth.

Amy
AKA Aunty Bee, the Bee Lady, or Amazing Amy – is the woman and the force behind Bee Mission.
Amy coordinates a team of volunteers to prep, cook, and deliver hot meals to people living on the streets of Bournemouth three times a week equating to a staggering 31,200 meals per year!
As well as food, Amy keeps the Bee Mission delivery van stocked with donated clothes and toiletries, dog food, and essentials such as tents and sleeping bags.
Amy also organises the team of beekeepers, builders, and volunteers to make sure that the beehives are placed in good homes, are well looked after, and that the honey is collected.
Once Amy has the honey, she rocesses, packs, labels, and sells the honey with every penny of profit going straight back into Bee Mission. A one-woman power house on a mission to help as many people and bees as possible, it couldn’t be done without her!

Serge & Zina
Serge has always been passionate about bees, he has his own hives and started to train to become a beekeeper in 2012. Serge looks after all our hives and is a busy bee who’s always looking for new beekeepers to join our team.
Zina met Serge in 2019, they became friends and she started to help Serge with the bees at King’s Lodge, one of Chris’ care homes. Love blossomed as Zina joined Serge on weekend trips to look after the bees and they were soon married. Zina now looks after the bees full time with Serge and is responsible for processing the honey.
