Holme Bush Inn

Loving seeing our un-bee-leivable news in the Bournemouth Daily Echo today!

We've been over at Holme Bush Inn Corfe Mullen installing five new hives on one of their beautiful 12 acres.

Ant and Kat, who you can see here, have just taken on the historic pub and wanted to give something back to nature and get some bees on the land but didn't know how to go about it.

And that's where we came in, we installed the hives, and we'll do all the looking after of the bees, so Ant and Kat can concentrate on the pub. All they have to do is work out which dishes to include some of their very own, holme-grown honey in - we want to be first on the list to try those dishes out!!

Bournemouth International Centre

We're buzzing to see news of our showstopping bees hit the headlines! Thanks to the BBC for featuring the big new hive install at the Bournemouth International Centre.

Amy Foster from Bee Mission explains how the partnership came about; “The team who runs the venue (local charity BH Live) had wanted some hives on the roof for a while.

"Through some mutual connections, they discovered the great work of Bee Mission. We went round to check the area was appropriate for the bees, which it was - and now they’ve moved in, which is great to see!

Silverstone Support

If you were at Croft or Silverstone in June, you might’ve seen something a little sweeter than usual – we were there with jars of honey to raise awareness and funds for a few brilliant causes.

At Silverstone alone, we raised £175 for the marshals' fund (thank you to everyone who donated!). It was also a chance to spread the word about Bee Mission and the importance of protecting pollinators, as well as share the work we’re doing through Affinity Vision in The Gambia – supporting education and healthcare in communities that really need it.

If you stopped for a chat, picked up a jar, or simply helped spread the message, thank you – it means a lot and helps both missions keep moving forward.

Fostering Scheme

More than 500 new beehives could be installed in gardens as part of a project to boost dwindling bee numbers.

Bee Mission aims to allow people to "foster" colonies of bees in gardens and open spaces in Hampshire and Dorset to provide homes for pollinators.

Businessman Chris Bialan said he hoped to reverse the trend of "decimated" bee populations.

The project also aims to train homeless people in beekeeping and business skills.
